Have any method to reduce bootrom size?

The Plop bootrom size is 43KB.
But the lancard bootrom socket always is 28-pins.
I can only found 28-pins EEprom max is 32KB (256Kbit) or 16KB(128Kbit).
I only need the USB BOOT function of plop boot manager.
Have any method to reduce the bootrom size?

i added the option -compress to plpbtrom. with this parameter the option rom size will be less than 32kb and the boot manager has still all features.
