Title: Can Plop boot from either MS Pro flash card slot, or PCMCIA card with SD
Post by: justsammy on July 02, 2011, 00:52:53 AM
Wondering if my old XP Sony laptop, which boots only to CD or HD in bios (Phoenix), but not USB, will boot with Plop to either the flash card slot (it's Sony MS Pro) or to the PCMCIA card slot - Ebay has got cards that hold SD flash:

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=sd+++TO+PCMCIA+PC+Card+Adapter+Reader&_sacat=0&_odkw=sd+Compact+Flash+TO+PCMCIA+PC+Card+Adapter+Reader&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

Thanks
Totally new here, would like to know if this is even possible before I dig in, order the cards, and try it.

There was a discussion about booting from a PCMCIA card with CF,
please take a look at http://forum.plop.at/index.php/topic,313.0.html.
I don't know if a PCMCIA adapter with SD is completely different...
CF cards and adapters are really cheap these days.
