Title: kernel 3.0 crash sometime
Post by: gernot on August 08, 2011, 18:11:02 PM
I use plop bootloader to boot sysresccd from usbstick. This work well  if the used kernel is <=2.6.
The new sysrcd version 2.3 use 3.0 as alternate kernel.

"Bootpath" is actual plop from lilo or floppy ->usbstick-> syslinux -> alternate kernel

crash comes with 2.3.0 with no kernelmodeswitching or 2.3.1-beta2 ever.
(shift- and scrolllock are blinking)

Is it possible that the "memtest problem" interfer with this?

model name      : AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2600+
MemTotal:       515192 kB

Thank you for this helpful  bootloader

Plop bootmanager work well !!!!

The problem was my PC. After replacing some bloated capacitors on the mainboard booting works.

I don't know why plop failed first, but with the time i got more and more signal 11 exceptions on normal programs.

Thanks
