Hi,

Wiki indicates the preferred Linux GUI is the lightweight LXDE:

Q: Can LXDE source code be compiled and made functional w/plop Linux?

yes. it is linux.

install the plop linux developer version (or run it in a virtual machine) and compile what you need. use the configure prefix /opt and when you compiled what you need then create a new opt.sqfs.
