Title: System32/hal.dll missing corrupted
Post by: FitzUljas on February 24, 2015, 12:33:45 PM
Hi,

Im trying to install lubuntu to my old laptop whitch doesnt support usb booting by default.

So by following this (https://www.raymond.cc/blog/doing-the-impossible-boot-computer-from-usb-or-cdrom-even-if-bios-not-supported-using-plop/) guide, i downloaded plop and clicked InstallToBootMenu. After booting, plop appeared to boot menu, but when I select it, it gives message something like "unable to start windows, missing or corrupted file system32/hal.dll"

If i select windows from boot menu, it starts fine.

Other question: Am I doing this right way? My concern is that if I get this to work and format all drives while installing lubuntu, does that affect to install process. I mean that formating does delete plop too, so can I still continue installing via usb even plop is deleted at the middle of process?
