my boot ini looks like this

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT

[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\c:\bootloader\plpbtldr.bin="Install Plop Boot Manager"

why do you add this in front of the boot manager line?
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\

try it without that
