Hi

I'm trying to use plop via ntldr (boot.,ini).
It starts fine and boots a CD from the DVD drive fine.

However, booting from USB gives (just from memory, so details could be slightly wrong/missing):

Loading EHCI driver
searching on hosts
host 1
Port 1: Device connected
No HD
host 2
Port 1: Device connected
No HD

All other drivers don't find any host/ports, anyway.

There is definitely no other USB device connected to the four ports
but my 16GB Sony Stick.
As I said, booting from CD-ROM in the DVD-drive works fine.

Any hints anyone ?

Thanks in advance and kind regards

Norbert.

hi,
those devices can be a webcam or internal hub.

Hi Elmar

thanks for the explanation. There is no webcam, but there might be
some internal hubs, I guess.
I'm trying to get more info about the hardware.

I did set the "skip USB devices" to two and the display changed.
The difference is: Just the "No HD" was not shown but still "Device connected" :)

Do you know a way to detect how many USB devices to skip or
any ideas what to try in plop to get booting from a USB stick or HD working ?

One of my first thoughts was, that "Stick might not be a HD but a different device".
But this seems to be too odd. What do you think ?

Any other help ?

Kind regards

Norbert.

bootup a linux and post the output txt files of

dmesg > dmesg.txt
lsusb -v > lsusb1.txt
lsusb -t > lsusb2.txt

post it as attachment (see additional options)

Hi Elmar

I didn't have time on Friday, but here they are :)

As expected, there are some internal hubs.

Any hints how to configure plop ?

Thanks in advance and regards

Norbert.

the 5.0.x versions don't support usb hubs.
