New question.
I have a SONY Vaio VGN-TX2XP: the BIOS doesn't allow me to boot via USB ports and the DVD ROM is now working only as CD ROM.
I would like to install the latest version of UBUNTU 12.10 via an USB pen drive: I have GRUB2 (Ubuntu 12.04 and windows).
I followed the instructions (item #7 in
http://www.plop.at/en/bootmanager/plpbt.bin.html): selecting on "FORCE USB as Mode1" and pressing CTRL-U, my external hardware put in a USB port is well detected but after pressing the ENTER button on my keyboard a black screen is shown with a blanking underline.
Some behaviour I have if I start with plop-linux live cd.
Can someone help me to solve the "black screen with blanking underline" behaviour and start eventually with the installation?
Thanks a lot
P.S.= As already posted, if I use plopkexec (with the same USB pendrive and UBUNTU 12.10) the Hardware is well detected and the installation start perfectly (but remember to update grub2 after the installation! )...I don't understand the reason!!!! help!...
