BIOS modding issue...
« on: March 09, 2015, 10:57:57 AM »
Hello. It's nice to meet you.

What I am trying to do is booting from USB 3.0 stick on USB 3.0 PCI-E card.
(Onboard USB 2.0 boot works well.)
So, I want to modify my bios but I am quite not experiened in modding BIOS...

[What I've done]
$cdrom198exe bios.rom /d
$cdrom198.exe bios.rom /pci extract
// I've chosen "PCI ROM[D] RTEGROM.LOM" //

$cdrom198.exe bios.rom /pci release
// I've chosen "PCI ROM[D] RTEGROM.LOM" //

$ren RTEGROM.LOM RTEGROM.BAK
$ren plpbtrom.bin RTEGROM.LOM
$cdrom198.exe bios.rom /pci RTEGROM.LOM
// Then, I got this. Maybe caused by size diffenece?

cbrom198.exe V1.98 [08/27/08] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2008
Adding RTEGROM.LOM ..... 59.7%
Can't renameCAUTION: RTEGROM.LOM file is not BIOS ROM

//

I've also tried another versions of cbrom (cbrom182, cbrom195 and cbrom196)
but no luck.

Any helps?

hello,

i cannot say why the rom mod doesn't work. But it seem that you think that usb 3.0 and/or pci-e cards are supported by the plop boot manager. both is not supported by the 5.x version.

best regards

Oh, I didn't know that...

Then, I hope that these features would be included in the next version.

Thank you.
