PlopLinux LiveUSB HELP
« on: June 09, 2016, 12:06:49 PM »
Re: Small/PlopLinux-4.3.1.1-i486.zip, w/o Xorg, GCC, MAN, Python
Hi,
LiveUSB boots to CLI and would need Desktop w/network.
WLAN requires Broadcom b43 driver:
http://www.linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43/

This is my initial try w/PlopLinux.
Q: Can Qemu be installed w/o a Desktop on this LiveUSB key?
. . . any help would be appreciated

Hi,
This D-Link WLAN USB adapter has always worked out-of-the-box with other Distro's:

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/Other-DRIVERS-TOOLS/D-Link/D-link-DWA-131-Wireless-N-Nano-USB-Adapter-Driver-1-00-for-Linux.shtml

Q: What's the correct PlopLinux install indexing needed to interface w/DWA-131 WLAN?

Also, I see BusyBox is bundled w/PlopLinux and need install indexing of this barebones network utility embedded in BusyBox:

Quote
udhcpc

udhcpc [-Cfbnqtvo] [-c CID] [-V VCLS] [-H HOSTNAME] [-i INTERFACE]

[-p pidfile] [-r IP] [-s script] [-O dhcp-option]...

        -V,--vendorclass=CLASSID        Vendor class identifier
-i,--interface=INTERFACE        Interface to use (default eth0)
        -H,-h,--hostname=HOSTNAME       Client hostname
        -c,--clientid=CLIENTID  Client identifier
        -C,--clientid-none      Suppress default client identifier
        -p,--pidfile=file       Create pidfile
        -r,--request=IP         IP address to request
-s,--script=file        Run file at DHCP events (default /usr/share/udhcpc/default.script)
-t,--retries=N          Send up to N request packets
-T,--timeout=N          Try to get a lease for N seconds (default 3)
-A,--tryagain=N         Wait N seconds (default 20) after failure
-O,--request-option=OPT Request DHCP option OPT (cumulative)
-o,--no-default-options Do not request any options (unless -O is also given)
        -f,--foreground Run in foreground
-b,--background Background if lease is not immediately obtained
        -S,--syslog     Log to syslog too
-n,--now        Exit with failure if lease is not immediately obtained
        -q,--quit       Quit after obtaining lease
        -R,--release    Release IP on quit
-a,--arping     Use arping to validate offered address

thx

Greetings,
From my own experience, this is the most critical and problematic chipsets in the linux world:

As I have seen, there are 3 different hardware versions of this WLAN adapter. Explaining how to get it to work should be an own thread. It also has a range from already supported, until compiling the driver, depending on your adapter version.
