I'm trying to USB boot on an ASUS P2B. It worked a few times (settling on EHCI) but now it gets stuck in the GUI after finding the USB disk. Hardware changes that happened inbetween were adding a SATA PCI controller and moving a NIC to another PCI slot. Are these changes related? Is there a way to solve it?

hi,
what happened exactly when you try to boot usb now? what do you see?

A correction: it's actually using UHCI. When it's stuck, the last written lines are:

Loading UHCI driver
Seacrhing on Hosts
Host 1
Generic
USB Flash disk
Loading boot sector...

and the menu on the left is halfway zoomed out.

and without the sata and the nic on the old position it still works?
does it work without the sata and the nic on the new position?

I checked without the SATA controller and later also without the NIC, both didn't matter.

But I realized it actually does boot from USB, but only if tried a single time. Trying to USB boot a second time (with warm/cold reboot) doesn't work, unless the USB disk is reinserted.

I also noticed that when it doesn't work it shows in the log window after "Host 1" "Generic". When it does work, it shows the actual USB disk name.
