Incomplete boot from USB with Dell Latitude C800
« on: September 03, 2009, 21:58:12 PM »
Hello,

first, thank you very much for the idea - I'm trying to boot usb keys from hd since some time with ubuntu, and even if it works, there are still problems.

I'm using the ploplinux-v.38.5.iso to boot from cd and boot ubuntu Karmic usb key made by the ubuntu usb creator;

1) choosing linux - system doesn't boot;
2) choosing linuxfb - system doesn't boot;
3) choosing plp it starts and shows me options for booting, correctely identified;
4) if I choose USB, the usb is identified and ubuntu is started, showing me the language options, etc. When i try to boot the system, it doesn't boot.

Do you have an idea?

Thx in advance,

Paolo

Dell latitude C800 - the inly boot problem I have sometimes with Linux is that I have to force Vesa driver, but in general it boots.
