I have an old Toshiba PC notebook (Protege 3480CT) and I would like to reinstall the existing OS (Windows 2000 Pro).
The PC has no internal CD Rom or Floppy device.
The PC has not the USB option boot in the BIOS.
I used PLoP from this link
http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2008/1...ted-using-plop/and now can see a boot option for USB when the PC switches on as in the last picture of the link above.
1/ When trying to boot from 'USB' on the boot menu (having a USB flash drive inserted I got:
LOADING EHCI DRIVER
SEARCHING ON HOSTS
DRIVER REMOVED
LOADING UHCI DRIVER
SEARCHING ON HOSTDS
HOST 1and the PC hangs
doing the same with no USB inserted, I got in addition:
***BOOT ERROR***
NO BOOT DEVICE FOUND, PLEASE RETRY IT2/ All my attempts to find a "guide" how to Install Windows 2000 using USB Flash Drive failed.
I found some on how to Install Windows XP (
http://komku.blogspot.com/2008/11/install-windows-xp-using-usb-flash-disk.html) but not for W2k.
Need Assistance
Thanks
