Hi.

I recently used my windows MSDN account to download an windows 7 pro 64 bit ISO file. I later discovered it was a 32 bit ISO. I used the windows USB/DVD Download Tool so I could perform a windows install and it worked fine. Realizing that this was a 32 bit version of windows that was downloaded I always figured I could boot a 64 bit OS from the start-up but the computer's BIOS ( A friend's PC ) doesn't support booting from a USB/DVD. I found your tool installed it successfully and then when I selected USB is says the following:

Loading EHC1 driver
Searching on Hosts
Host 1
Port 1: Device connected
No HD
Host 2:Device connected
No HD
driver removed
Loading UHC1 driver
searching on Hosts
Drivers Removed
Loading DHC1 driver
Searching on Hosts
Driver Removed

Boot Error
No Boot device found. Please retry it.

From CD:

Loading CDROM
No CDROM found

I could really use some assistance.

hi,
1) usb dvd drives are not supported. only usb hd's and thumbdrives.
2) it looks like there is an usb hub (internal or external) and usb hubs are also not supported

It's a SanDisk USB 2.0 Flash drive.
There is no external USB hub but does that account for the fact that a CDROM is not detected?

I have drive that I previously formatted and installed it into a SATA hard drive enclosure. If I transfer the installation files to this enclosure is it possible that it will be detected?

when you mean with "enclosure" that you can connect that device to usb AND when there is no internal usb hub between the sata hard disk and the usb host, then it should be detected.

for testing the detection, you dont have to transfer the install files
