PLoP not working on Lenovo T510i

It says scanning ports 1 and 2, but it never finds my usb hdd. Any idea why not?

what boot manager version do you use?

Yup, tried connecting it directly to each port on my laptop, no hubs. Still no dice.

I tried 5.0.11-test3 first, then 5.0.11-pcmcia-test3 for kicks. Neither worked.

please try 5.0.10 too

what happened when you boot the laptop without hd connected. then do a dummy usb boot without hd connected, then connect the hd and try usb again.

do you see the port scan at ehci, uhci or ohci?

I'm about to try 5.0.10...

I did do the dummy boot, though, and it scanned both ports (EHCI, I think, it was the first one it tries) invariably, it searches two ports first, and for the last two drivers, it finds no hubs.

when you can use linux, then please post the output of "lspci -v >lspci.txt" as attachment

the hard disk is connected with an usb hub to the root hub. so when you have no external hub connected, then its an internal hub. so it will not work with the plop boot manager 5.0.x
