ploplinux 420 gnome mplayer play video only have audio output but no display ,i put the codecs file in the right place(opt/codes) ,it works under 412 version ,maybe mplayer cannot find the codecs . i check that codecs was linked to /opt/lib/codecs . i try to make a link to /usr/lib/codecs ,only failed with read-only syste. i think /opt/lib was not under mplayer's codecs searching path. how can i fix it , please help me....
the codecs directory is still /opt/lib/codecs. what codec is used?
thankx for replay .code for normal video file such as avi, rm,rmvb and mkv. i boot ploplinux via nfs with client pc .and the video file (some films) also locate in the server and share with nfs mount when login gnome.
i tried various avi's without problem. i played the avis with no additional codec

i got something new , mplayer can play rmvb files without problem ,but cannot play avis ,, i test it use terminal . something like :
[mpeg4 @ 0x89445e0]Error, header damaged or not MPEG4 header (qscale=0)
[mpeg4 @ 0x89445e0]header damaged
spit out without video screen but sound.
