Title: Can't Install with, nor Boot into Windows 10 on USB 3.0 SSD, Suggestions?
Post by: Sturdy35 on April 30, 2018, 07:29:51 AM
I cannot seem to use Windows 10 64-bit OS on my USB 3.0 128GB SSD, nor my USB 3.0 128GB Flash Drive (formatted to NTFS). When I try installing the OS onto any USB 3.0 Drive, whether using another separate USB flash drive (formatted to FAT32), or with a DVD-ROM Install-Disc, the Installation doesn't "see" the drive. Or, after I (successfully) install the OS onto my SSD that is connected to my (custom) PC's Motherboard via SATA (Gen. 3; 6Gbps), the moment I switch the SSD's internal connection to the Motherboard from SATA to USB 3.0 (whether via the internal USB 3.0 onboard headers, or on the Rear USB 3.0 ports), it won't boot into the OS either.

Based on the UEFI/BIOS, my guess is that the problem is BIOS - Based, and not necessarily OS - Based, since the BIOS doesn't "see" the USB SSD either. However, my question is: Can the PLop-boot manager solve this problem? If so, how? What procedure should I do? If not, then can anyone suggest something? Any help would be welcome.

I wonder, since the Windows To Go feature is supported using Enterprise licensing, if there could be a restriction built into Windows 10 by Microsoft?
