Hello everybody!

I have been using Plop Boot Manager to boot from USB! I didn´t install full because there are many problems...

I have some "USB Flash Drives":

— I can boot from USB using HPv175w (16GB). That is I can istall WinXPSP2 or Puppy Linux to my laptop

— I can boot from microSD Nokia (1GB with a USB Card Reader). That is I can istall WinXPSP2 or Puppy Linux to my laptop

BUT:

— There is a problem using HPv165w (8GB) to boot WINXPSP2 and Puppy Linux, because from the beginning I just can see a black screen (it doesn't appear anything). I think my HPv165w (8GB) is Ok because I can use it to transfer files (there is no problem). Also I bought this USB Flash Drive a month ago.

— There is a problem using another microSD (2GB with a USB Card Reader) to boot Puppy Linux, the screen show this and doesn't change:

  Syslinux 3.85 2010-02-20 EBIOS
  Copyright (C) 1994-2010 H. Peter Anvin
  et al          boot:
  _

I think microSD (2GB with a USB Card Reader) is ok because I can transfer files... Also I bought this microSD a month ago

— So, I NEED HELP!!!, There must be someone who can solve that problem! I think this forum is an appropriate site where to find a solution to my problem!!! although I have been waiting so long, so I think you forgot my question!

...THANKS for pay attention

The difference in results only in flashes?
Try to boot PLoP with GRUB.
Try to change HD0 and HD1 by places
Try to use different MBR's

The best method to install XP from flash use simple copying files from XP disk to target disk, and than use winnt under dos or winnt32 under bart pe. bart pe much easy

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb491032.aspx
I can't find better URL about this - my GOOGLE give russian content first

copy all files from XP ISO to target directory, boot from flash BART PE (not very limit revision). find and execute i386\winnt32.exe. all other the same as CD install. after install del all instalation files or you may leave them for windows restore
this is official microsoft method

i don't know whats the exact problem for the blank screen so maybe the following does not help.

i would write a new mbr program to the usb drive and maybe i would change the partition type to lba and format it again.

do you know how to do this or do you need help?
