Boot Managers / Wie bootet man von CD direkt i...

nun muss ich, da ich verzweifelt und wohl zu doof bin, doch einmal eine Frage stellen und um Hilfe bitten.
Seit dem Wochenende habe ich mir nun mehrfach die ganze Website zwecks "plpbt-5.0.15" durchgelesen und gedacht, dass ich dies leicht hinbekomme. Online habe ich auch Videos bei YouTube gesehen, dennoch bootet mein PC von CD -was er ja soll-, aber es erscheint dann das "MBR Install Programm" anstatt das "Hauptmenü". Bei allen Videos bei YouTube wird entweder eine Diskette oder CD benutzt, dann neu gestartet, gebootet und schwupps erscheingt das Hauptmenü mit der Auswahl zwecks Bootwahl (USB usw.), nur bei mir kommt stets das "MBR Install Programm".
Also, ich habe mich an die ersten Seiten gehalten und das "plpbt-5.0.15.zip" geladen, anschließend entpackt. Für die Diskette soll man die .bin wählen, für die CD eben die .iso. Insofern habe ich die .iso gebrannt. Soweit passt es doch, oder?
Danach habe ich die CD im Laufwerk gelassen, den Rechner neu gestartet und von CD gebootet, damit das Hauptmenü wie in allen YouTube Videos erscheint und ich von dort aus "USB" auswählen kann.
Was mache ich falsch, wenn ich die "plpbt-5.0.15.zip" geladen, entpackt und die plpbt.iso gebrannt, dann von CD starte, aber stets zum MBR INstall Programm automatisch gelange?
Online bei den Videos sieht man auch nur, dass von der CD gebootet wird und dann sofort das Hauptmenü (USB Auswahl) erscheint.
Ich möchte das:

Last post by sv6ix - October 16, 2023, 12:50:56 PMI did abort the previous run and proceeded to step 2 and followed on. I could retrieve a lot of my data including files, folder and dd images. Some data is missing but I received a note from the program to run step 3 with --alternatives which I did not do.
Now I am running the program again and it is stuck almost at the same point (very minor difference in bytes, folders and files):
sudo ./hfsprescue -s1 /dev/disk3 -d /Volumes/5TBSGUT/5TB_rescue/ -b 8192

Is it possible that the drive has bad sectors?
I know, the partition is 4TB big, but are you able to create an image of the partition to another drive? The benefit would be that your old drive stays as it is when you work with the image.

Thanks for your response. My external drive became unmountable (super block error) due to abrupt shutting down of my MacBook. I have quite a few files as well as some DD images on the drive. For some of these files I do not have backups elsewhere.

Last post by i93sme - October 14, 2023, 16:42:03 PMI had the exact same issue, then I selected SETUP from the menu and changed the Force USB 1.1 to MODE 1 and bingo. Now a trashed laptop (Amilo L6820) will have a new life running FreeDOS and Debian 12.

After scanning up to 76.72% in 12 hours, it is stuck at that percentage for the more than 7 hours.

Last post by ruuser - August 14, 2022, 11:24:16 AMTry to format the usb-stick with the WinSetupFromUSB program with the "Auto format it with FBinst" option enabled. And select the fat32 file system, the other parameters are by default. When starting from this usb-stick, there will be 2 items: "F1 - Grub4DOS" and "F2 - PLoP". Try both items to run WinPE, etc.
